  • Halloween costumes

Here are the pictures of the boys Halloween costumes. The ones that are inside are the ones we took when we were trying to decide if their costumes would work. The ones outside are after a funeral and I got them dressed out of the back of the suburban so we could get started Trick or Treating before it got too late.

Carson has been wanting to wear my old lady wig so he decided to dress up like an old lady for Halloween. All he needed was a walker!

I hope you can tell what Jared is. He designed his face on paper and then I tried to duplicate it on his face.

Several people guessed Quinton as the Jolly Green Giant but he was suppose to be the Incredible Hulk! That is why his clothes are ripped up and the dark eyebrows! I did color is legs, chest, and arms green but we must have missed the underside of his arms when i did it! That is what happens when you are in a hurry and outside!

Do you like all that white stuff in the background of the outdoor pictures? We got 8-10 inches of snow Friday but it was decent on Saturday when we were driving around. The roads were muddy and awful and now the suburbans color is mud instead of red!!

Hope you had a fun Halloween!!!

  • Running around

The boys have kept us busy running around. But lets start with the 1st day of school picture. All three boys are in school, going to our little county school. Quinton will start Junior High next year and be going to school in town so life around here will be a little different.

We a mini vacation at the end of August and went to the Omaha Doorley Zoo. We made it through in 2 1/2 hours and saw everything but the butterfly pavilion. The boys just saw what they wanted and moved on. Tim and I could hardly keep up. Here is a picture of them and one of the statues. I didn't get any live animals.

After the Zoo we went on over to Tom and Angie's and spent the weekend just hanging out. It was fun.

The boys played flag football. Carson just played at practice but Jared and Quinton both played in one flag football tournament. Both of thier teams got 3rd in their division.  Jared only played 3 games of football but Quinton had to play 5. They had lots of fun.

Jared as the big time center.

We have already carved our pumpkins here. I had to pick them because of the frost and the boys wanted to get started on them so I just let them. We may be early with them but by the time Halloween gets around I don't think the pumpkins would have been very good anyhow.

  • Fish Stories, cowboys, sports, and more

Here I am trying to catch up again! I've got lots of pictures for you! So lets start with the fish stories. Quinton has had good luck this year. The last day of school we had a potluck and then went fishing at the neighbors fish pond and Quinton caught a nice catfish. We took it home and turned it loose in our lake.

Then he was fishing in our lake out here and caught a nice bass. We ate it!

Jared went to Rodeo Bible camp this year and really enjoyed it. They didn't use horses just learned the basics. They ran the barrels and poles to learn the patterns. he did get to tie up a goat.

And he learned how to rope. In the contest he got 6 out of 10 throws. I thought that was pretty good for just learning how to do it proper.

Look at that nice big flat loop!

We did several field days at the end of school.

I don't know but I don't think that is the proper form for high jump but it worked for him! The landing doesn't look so fun!

We also played soccer. Carson had a good year. He would get the ball and just take off with it and score. He usually had at least 5 goals a game.

In June we have done a lot of running around. We went to my 20th class reunion. I enjoyed that. We did Tim's 25th reunion, which he was in charge of the banquet. Boy are we glad that is over. Had weddings and several funerals to go to.

To finish off here are a couple of fun photos of Carson.

The kid he is sleeping on is a neighbor kid, Kade. We were down cleaning the Rose Church before VBS and I think we tired them out.

  • Bad Penni!

Wow! Has it really been that long since I have blogged? Guess so. Sorry about that . We have had a lot going on, guess I just didn't take the time to share. Maybe in the next couple of days I will put up a couple of blogs so that I can catch up. No promises, though.

Here is a picture of the boys and Mom and Dad at Mom's 70th birthday party.

I thought it turned out nice, other than you can tell the boys had been out playing and are all hot and sweaty.

I let Jared wear a mohawk for a couple of weeks and he was pretty proud of it.

    2009_0401_074318 2009_0401_074309

He got lots of compliments on it but I think some were "tongue in cheek" kind of comments.

We finally got some warm weather here in Nebraska that turned all our snow into water and puddles and mud. The boys just couldn't resist the mud. They were all pretty cold in this picture but had lots of fun getting this dirty.

That is all I am going to blog about for this blog. I know it was short but the pictures are fun!
